Links and actions

Build the public page — one-tap actions, app tiles, the Featured card, links with icons and thumbnails, the shop, and time-scheduled visibility.

Everything a guest sees is built on the Links tab, and the tab is laid out in the same order as the public page — so working top to bottom in the editor is working top to bottom on the phone. The live preview beside it is rendered by exactly the same code as the published page, so nothing is a guess.

Every edit here goes into the draft and is autosaved. It reaches guests when you press Publish — see Create and publish a page.

The order guests see

From the top of the public page: your name, handle and bio, then one-tap actions, the app tiles, the Featured card, the links, the shop, and finally the email capture form. A block with nothing in it simply doesn’t render.

One-tap actions

One-tap actions are the row of small buttons under your bio — the things a guest wants without reading anything. Press Add action to create one.

Each action is a single row: a type picker, the destination, a remove button and an on/off switch. The icon and the button label both follow the type, so there is nothing else to fill in.

Type Typical destination
Call tel:+91…
WhatsApp https://wa.me/91…
Directions a map link
Email mailto:hello@…
Order online your delivery or pickup page
Instagram your profile
Book a table your booking page
Custom link anything else

Destinations must be an https, mailto or tel address — anything else is refused with an inline message. That restriction is what keeps a public Smartlinks page from ever being used to bounce a guest somewhere unsafe.

Directions with more than one branch

A Directions action can hold every branch you run. Press Add branch and give each one a name, an optional area, and its own map link. The row then reads 3 branches · guests pick one, and on the public page a tap opens a picker so the guest chooses their branch before the map opens.

With no branches added, the action is a plain single map link.

App tiles — Reservations and Menu

Under the actions sit up to two large tiles, Reservations and Menu. They are shortcuts out to somewhere you already run — they are not booking or menu screens inside Smartlinks.

  • Reservations shows the tile using the Heading and Sub-heading you set, and sends the guest to the WhatsApp confirm link.
  • Menu does the same with its Heading and the Full menu link.

A tile only appears on the public page when its switch is on and its link is filled in with a safe address. Leave the link empty and the tile is hidden entirely.

Note: the extra fields tucked behind each tile’s pencil — party sizes, time slots, locations, menu categories and item prices — are stored on the page but are not shown to guests, and taps on these two tiles are not counted in Analytics. Treat them as two well-styled buttons that point at the real thing.

Featured is a single pinned hero card that sits above your link list — one spotlighted call-out for whatever matters this week. There is only ever one, and it is always yours to write.

Open it with the pencil and set:

  • Title and Subtitle — the copy on the card.
  • URL — where the card sends a guest.
  • Button label — the text on the card’s button. This label is page-wide, so it also applies anywhere else the primary button copy is used.

The fastest way to fill it is from a link you already have: press Make featured on any link row (or pick one from the Feature one of your links chips inside the Featured editor) and its title and URL are copied across. The link itself stays where it is — featuring it does not move or remove it.

Turn the switch off to hide the card without deleting it.

The Links block is the main list — up to 100 of them. Press Add link for a new row.

Collapsed, a row shows its icon tile (or thumbnail), title, destination, any schedule, a pin, an edit pencil and an on/off switch. The pencil opens the full editor:

  • Title and URL — both required before you can publish. The URL must be an https, mailto or tel address.
  • Thumbnail — upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 5 MiB. A thumbnail replaces the icon tile on the button. Remove puts the icon back.
  • Icon — ten glyphs to choose from. Press the selected one again to clear it.
  • Icon background — six preset tile colours, or type your own hex. The glyph colour is chosen automatically so it stays readable on whatever you pick.
  • Schedule — see below.

Done collapses the row. Delete link removes it.

Two things decide the order on the public page, in this order:

  1. Pinned links float to the top. Press the pin button on a row to pin it; press it again to unpin.
  2. Everything else keeps the order it was added in.

Within each group the relative order is preserved. There is currently no drag-to-reorder — the pin is how you promote something, and if you want a link somewhere specific further down the list, delete it and add it again in the position you want.

Scheduling

The Featured card, any link and any one-tap action can carry an optional time window. Open the item with its pencil, turn Schedule on, and set Starts, Ends, or just one of the two — leaving a side blank leaves it open-ended.

An item appears on the public page only when it is enabled and inside its window. So a Sunday-brunch link with an end time takes itself down; a festival menu with only a start time appears by itself and stays.

Scheduled rows carry a small time pill in the editor list, so you can see at a glance which items aren’t permanent. Times are read in India Standard Time.

Shop

Shop turns the page into a small storefront for merch, gift cards, beans or seasonal boxes. It is organised as collections — up to 12 of them — each rendering as a horizontally scrolling row of product cards, and each holding up to 40 products.

  1. Press Add collection and give it a Collection name.
  2. Press Add product, then fill in the product’s Name.
  3. Add an Image (PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 5 MiB), a Price, and a Buy link if you sell it somewhere.

Price is free text, so ₹499, From ₹250 and Sold out are all fine — nothing is calculated.

There is no on/off switch for the shop: it shows when it has content and disappears when it doesn’t. A collection with no products in it is hidden, and a product with no buy link renders as a card the guest can look at but not tap.

Email capture

The last block on the page collects email addresses. It has its own page — see Email capture.

Note: the signups figure printed on the collapsed Email capture row in the editor is a placeholder and always reads 0. Your real signup numbers are on the Analytics tab.
