Operate
Run your outlets' daily routines — checklists, log tasks, escalations, maintenance tickets, and reports.
Operate is how your outlets run the day: scheduled checklists (opening, mid-day, closing), on-demand log tasks (fridge temperatures, batches, spot checks), escalations when something is missed or a reading goes out of range, maintenance tickets for broken equipment, and reports that roll it all up for managers. Everything staff record is stamped with who did it and when, so the morning routine is no longer a matter of trust — it’s on the record.
The two faces of the app
Operate shows a different app depending on your role:
- Staff get a phone-first app built around the Today board — the day’s checklists and scheduled items. Four tabs run along the bottom: Today, Logs, Maintenance, and Me.
- Managers land in the Ops Console — a desktop-style workspace with a sidebar: Overview, Tasks, Checklists, and Escalations under Operate; Outlets, Reports, Assets, and Tickets under Cluster.
- Admins (the org-wide admin, or anyone with the Operate admin role) see one extra sidebar section: Admin config, where departments, people, and escalation settings live.
You don’t choose between them — Operate reads your role when you sign in. Crew members get the staff app; anyone with the manager or admin role (or org-wide admin rights) gets the console.
Guides
For staff:
- Your day in Operate — the Today board, completing checklist tasks with evidence, and amending a submitted task.
- Log tasks — file on-demand records like temperature readings and cleaning logs, any time.
- Maintenance and tickets — report broken equipment and follow a ticket to resolution.
For managers:
- Building checklists — author a checklist in the Builder and publish it to your outlets.
- Scheduling — phases, time windows, and recurrence: when checklists appear and when they’re due.
- Escalations — what happens when a task is missed or a reading breaches its safe range.
- Monitoring the day — the Overview, Tasks, and Outlets views for watching compliance live.
- Reports — completion and compliance rollups across outlets.
- Admin configuration — departments, people, roles, and escalation settings.
How work flows
- A manager builds a checklist template in the Builder and publishes it to chosen outlets.
- On its schedule, each outlet gets its own copy of the checklist for the day.
- Staff work through the tasks on the Today board, attaching the evidence each task asks for — photos, readings, confirmations.
- If a checklist is missed, or a reading falls outside its safe range, Operate raises an escalation to the outlet’s managers. Escalations that sit unresolved climb tiers, and can also notify the owner.
- Reports roll everything up so managers can see completion and compliance across every outlet.
Signing in
Operate uses your central Maska login — the same email or phone and 4-digit PIN you use for other Maska modules.
- If your PIN has been reset, Operate sends you to the central Maska app to set a new PIN, then brings you straight back in.
- If you see “You don’t have access to Operate”, your account exists but the Operate module isn’t enabled for any of your outlets — ask your administrator to enable it.
