Working the counter
The floor and its channels, opening an order, adding dishes and their options, notes, quantities and discounts.
The floor
The floor header names the outlet and reads All day., with a tally of tables and new online orders, and two buttons: Bills, which opens today’s settled bills for reprinting, and Set up floor.
Under it, a row of channel pills:

There is no separate delivery order type. Delivery arrives through the aggregator channels, and those are not switched on yet.
Tables and zones
Dine-in shows the room as a grid, filtered by a row of zone pills: All, one per zone with a count, and a Comped pill when the outlet has house tables. To the right, a legend counts how many tables are free and how many are waiting to settle.
A table tile is in one of three states:

Under the label sits the zone, the covers, and where they apply the words “custom” and “on the house”. A comped table carries a COMPED badge; otherwise the badge counts unsent items. Comped tables always sort last.
The grid leads with a dashed Add a table card for seating somebody outside the plan for one service.
Opening an order
Tap a free table and the order opens straight away, seating the table before the first dish is added. If you walk back out without adding anything, the empty order is quietly retired. Tap an occupied table and its order reopens.
Takeaway starts from the New takeaway order card, which asks for a customer name first. Leaving it blank is fine; the ticket then reads “Walk-in”. Queue cards show the status, the order number, the customer, the item tally, the total, and a mono footer reading “pay on pickup” with the time. Oldest first.
The order screen’s header names where you are, with a mono line carrying the zone, the covers, when it opened and the customer. A Table options menu on the right renames the table, re-counts the party, changes its type, or opens move and merge.
Adding dishes
The left pane is a search field, a scrolling strip of categories, and the tiles. Only the grid scrolls. While you are searching the categories hide and a line counts the matches, with each result captioned by its category.
A tile shows the diet mark, the name, the price, and either its category or N options.
- A dish with no options adds on the tap, one unit, immediately.
- A dish with options opens a sheet. Sections are named by your own menu (“Choice of protein”), each marked Pick one, Required or Optional, with the price difference beside each choice. An option that is off is shown greyed with its reason rather than hidden. Under them, a Customisation note → kitchen with quick chips and free text, and a Quantity stepper. The confirm button reads Add with the composed price.
If a combination would take the line below zero, the sheet stays open with your picks intact and says so.
Quantities
The white + on a tile turns into a stepper once the dish is on the ticket, so you count up without leaving the grid. The number moves as fast as you tap; the network catches up afterwards.
On the bill, an unfired line has a stepper and a bin. A fired line shows a read-only quantity, because it is already being cooked. Removing a line raises a toast with an Undo that puts it back exactly as it was.
Notes
Every bill line has a Note pill, fired or not, options or not. The sheet is titled with the dish and says the note goes straight to that station’s screen.
It offers quick chips (no sugar, less sugar, extra hot, less ice, soy milk, no onion, less spicy, extra spicy, nut allergy, gluten allergy, to share, pack separately) and a Custom instruction field. Save note or Clear.
Discounts
Discounts at the counter are whole-bill and before the bill is raised. Once an invoice exists the affordance is gone.
A dashed bar reads Discount the bill. Open it and you get:
- Already off this bill, listing what is on, each with Take it off.
- How much comes off?, with a % off and ₹ off toggle and a value.
- Why?, as chips: Regular guest, Service recovery, Promotion, Bulk order, Manager’s call.
Bill discounts stack. A new one adds to what is there; take one off to replace it.
Above the counter’s limit, the sheet warns you, requires a written note saying why, and asks a manager to approve it on the spot. The button then reads Approve & apply.
On the bill the discount sits between Subtotal and the tax rows, so GST is charged on the net. Each line keeps its full price with a small deduction under it.
Moving and merging a table
From Table options, Move or merge table puts this bill on another table, or joins it to one already working. It needs the floor-manage permission, and it is refused once the bill is raised: settle it first.
Pick a destination from the list, grouped by zone. Each row says what it will do: Free · move here, or N items · merge into it with that table’s running total. A table whose bill is already raised is not selectable.
The confirmation says exactly what happens:
- Move. “The bill keeps its number and its kitchen tickets. Only the seating changes.”
- Merge. “The items, their kitchen tickets and anything taken off them move across. Nothing is re-punched, and this is not counted as a void, a comp or a discount anywhere.” A two-up card compares the two tables first.
Afterwards the old table is free and you are looking at the surviving bill. The ticket that merged away shows a neutral Merged chip.
