Loyalty

The loyalty card, the guest wallet and the staff CRM: stamps, rewards, campaigns and the members who hold them.

Loyalty is Maska’s repeat-custom module. Guests collect stamps on a loyalty card, a full card earns a reward, and you get a named list of the people doing it.

Three surfaces share one programme:

  • The CRM, a sit-down console for whoever runs the programme: members, campaigns, the rules, the card’s design and the sign-up QRs. These pages describe it unless they say otherwise.
  • The guest wallet, a web app the guest opens on their phone. One wallet holds every Maska brand they have joined.
  • The counter, where stamps and rewards actually happen: inside POS on a bill, or on a paired tablet running the scanner at a counter with no POS.

The card and the stamps

One guest holds one card per brand, not one per outlet. A stamp earned at any linked outlet lands on the same card and a reward can be redeemed at any of them, so there is nothing to reconcile between shops.

The card has a length, between 4 and 12, and a reward, in your own words. Complete the card and the reward is banked: it sits on the guest’s card until somebody at the counter marks it used, and the stamps start again from zero.

Words we use

We say What it means
Loyalty card The card a guest holds with your brand. One per brand, per guest.
Stamp One earning. Usually one settled bill.
Reward What a full card earns. Once earned it is banked until redeemed.
Member A guest holding your loyalty card.
Booster An extra promo layered on the base card: a weekend, an hour, a drink.
Campaign A card put into a targeted group of wallets, with an offer on it.
Lapsing Stamps about to expire. Not the same as a guest who has drifted away.

Where each thing is set

Screen What it decides
Overview How the week is going, and who needs a nudge.
Members Who is in the programme, and what each of them is worth.
Campaigns Talking to a slice of them.
Programme rules Card length, the reward, what earns a stamp, and where.
Card design What the card looks like in a guest’s wallet.
Stores Sign-up QRs, print packs, and each outlet’s numbers.
Settings Your brand profile, counter tablets, and the people who stamp.

On a wide screen these sit in a rail on the left, which folds with Cmd B. On a phone the first four become a bottom capsule with a More button, and signing out lives in the drawer behind it.

The Overview

The console opens on a greeting and a one-line read of the week: stamps expiring, rewards unredeemed and new members this month.

Four figures across the top:

Card What it counts
Stamps issued This week, with a spark of the seven days.
Rewards to fulfil Banked and unredeemed. Something the counter owes.
Expiring soon Members whose oldest stamp lapses within seven days.
Active members The live count, with this month’s joins as the change on it.

Under them, stamps this week as seven Monday-first bars, and expiring soon as the actual members in that state, each with how long they have left and a button to nudge all of them with a campaign.

Last, signups by outlet: daily joins per store against that store’s own usual rate, with a WORTH A LOOK flag when a day is well out of line. It is how you tell which counter is actually recruiting. It only works because store-scoped QR codes exist, so see Stores and settings.

The picker at the top of every screen scopes the console to all outlets or one of them, and lives in the address, so a refresh keeps it and a link carries it.

The search box beside it matches names and phone numbers, and typing in it takes you to Members. It deliberately never appears in the address, because a phone number in a link is a phone number in somebody’s history. Cmd K or Ctrl K puts your cursor in it.

Signing in, and who sees what

Staff sign in the way they do everywhere in Maska: a WhatsApp code, or an email or phone and a 4-digit PIN. Counter staff added on the Settings screen get a temporary PIN they change on first use.

Switching Loyalty on seeds four roles:

Role What it grants
Admin Everything, including guest contact details.
Marketer Campaigns, plus reading members and reports. No rules, no contact details.
Viewer Members and reports, read only.
Counter The scanner, and nothing else. It may act on the card a guest has just presented and learn nothing about anybody else.

Contact details are a separate permission from the member list, held only by Admin. Somebody can run campaigns for a year without ever being able to read a guest’s phone number, and every reveal is recorded against the name of whoever pressed it.

A role that cannot change something can still read it. Programme rules, Card design, Stores and Settings all open for anyone with the module, with the controls quiet and a line saying which access lifts them.
